China has vast territory and abundant resources. Different climates in different regions greatly affect the characteristics of the architecture.

For example, in Northern China, we see very often a closed courtyard that is closed to the outside but open to the inside. Such architectural design could be explained by insufficient water resources, heavy winds with massive sandstorms and extremely cold winters: The slope of rooftop helps to collect rainwater. Thick walls and thick roofs could block wind and sand. Spacious courtyard allows as much sunlight as possible.

What is Feng Shui? Feng Shui is living in harmony with our environment – both natural and built, internal and external.

When you feel cold, you turn the AC up to make the room warmer. When you feel warm, you turn the AC down to make the room cooler.

This, IS Feng Shui.
